Gifting Day 9: Snowballs
This is another super simple recipe that you can customize to your liking. You should be able to make enough to divide up among several people. They would look cute packaged in decorative takeout boxes, or stacked in cellophane bags.
Consider packaging with the following verse: "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18 (KJV)
1 classic white cake mix
1 can vanilla marshmallow frosting
white chocolate coating
decorator sugar for top
Make
the cake according to the directions on the box. Let cool. Crumble the
cake in the pan and add just enough frosting to allow you to form the cake into balls. (You don't have to use the whole can)
Place the balls on
a parchment paper lined sheet pan and place them in the freezer. Once firm, melt the white
chocolate coating in either a double boiler or a microwave. Use a fork to dip the balls into the coating and gently tap the fork on the side of the pan or bowl (this allows you to cover
the cake balls entirely and remove any excess). Place them back on the sheet pan and sprinkle with sanding sugar.
Once they are set, package and distribute.
